When you decide to read the first thought that captivates into your brain is usually about the category or genre. After brainstorming for an hour, finally, you get your book.
The Young Adult genre is one of them, Young Adult is one of the trendy categories right now and back from the early 2000s. People’s usually have different opinions whether you like this genre or maybe loath, but many of the readers like to read. Young Adult literature was written for zealous teenagers, usually from 14 to 25 and it includes fantasy, romance, relationships, first love etc. YA is not a genre but it defines the age group of youth. The main focus while writing YA books, the perspective which is the most important in the adult story.
Some of the famous YA novels are here, ‘The Fault in our Stars, ‘the Hate U give’, ‘The Outsider’ etc. This book fascinates the teenager to scrutinize themselves and great own perspective. Nowadays Young Adult fiction tends to focus on developing sexuality, education negotiation, bigger dreams, emotional heartbreaks etc. This genre has gained high popularity over the decades and stays in the limelight. Once an interviewer said, “YA is less violent than adult fiction”. YA books are about how to live in the world we have, YA books are now changing the world. They empower their readers to pick more from this genre.
During the age of teenagers, everything was going to be shifting their emotion, behavior, attitude, perspective etc. Destructive thoughts may affect their upcoming life, to read and inquire into life you have to pick this genre. Because people usually see the protagonist as their own and compare it with themselves, it excites them and encourages them to read further until the end. And this genre is hot in the market and make bestselling authors or bestselling novel.
According to the survey, the largest market captured by YA novels and the market will grow up exponentially in the future. For those who aren’t reading YA novels, chances are they’re consuming in another form like media example from Netflix and Amazon Prime.
