Celebrity in focus today is the beloved actor, Tom Holland. Now in our research, we have discovered that actor Tom Holland is not particularly an avid reader. Still, this talented actor does not hold back in sharing, with his fans, the books he did read and found enjoyable. So without further ado, we present recommendations by actor Tom Holland.

The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling

“When in doubt, go to the library.” — Ron Weasley, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Well well well, if it isn’t another Potterhead. That’s right! Actor Tom Holland is also a Potterhead and was “obsessed with Harry Potter”. In an interview with BBC Radio, Tom boasted that in a Harry Potter trivia quiz he would “smash that quiz”. His love for the famed series is so much such that he claims he may know more about the books than the writer JK Rowling herself.

Suffice to say, the Harry Potter fandom is more than happy to welcome him into the ever-growing club. And just as a side-note, Tom’s Hogwarts house, according to him, is Gryffindor.

Marvel’s Spiderman Comics

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

Tom Holland admits that he did not read many comics as a kid but loved the Spiderman cartoons that aired on television. However, while doing his research in preparation for his role as the next Peter Parker, the actor ploughed through the many Spiderman comics and was angry his parents did not expose him to said comics as a child!

In an interview with IGN, the actor revealed that the Ultimate Spiderman Comics were the ones that resonated with him the most and inspired his performance in the movies.

The Fruit Bowl by Dominic Holland

“Sometimes things just happen. Little things that appear incidental but go on to have life-changing consequences; good and bad.”

It’s no secret that actor Tom Holland’s family is blessed with many talents. His mother, Nikki Holland, is a successful photographer, and his father, Dominic Holland, is a stand-up comedian. However, what fans may not know is that Dominic Holland is also a skilled writer with 6 published works!

One of them, The Fruit Bowl, was published on 14 July 2020, and Tom was quick to share this with the world. In fact, a day before its release, the actor shared a snippet of the book on Instagram and captioned it — “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry and I guarantee you’ll love it.” Some fans shared their love for the aforementioned fiction novel in the comments of the actor’s post saying it was a great read and that they have since ventured onto other Dominic Holland writings.

Eclipsed by Dominic Holland

“A barrel of laughs should be enough, but it’s not. A good review is official and enduring. A bad one is like a tub of Flora. It spreads easily and lasts for the whole festival.”

Yet another Holland work, this eBook was released in 2013 and is the story of how ‘a kid dances his way from London’s West End all the way to Hollywood and eclipses his ‘celebrity’ dad along the way’. Yes, this book is about how actor Tom Holland ‘eclipsed’ his own dad in his ‘best efforts at becoming famous himself’.

The actor was keen on sharing the book with his fans, yet again, on Instagram, even four years after its initial release!
