Books are the supreme source of knowledge and they all are unique in their own ways. However, some books have no match for their completely unique and creative structure.

1) First Electrical Book

Did you know that before the ebook era, there was an electrical book called Mechanical Encyclopedia? It was invented by Anzela Ruiz Robles, a Spanish teacher, writer, and inventor. Originally, its name was Enciclopedia Mecanica. In this device, people accessed the content through a panel of buttons. One could also magnify the text in the device for a clear view and the text was visible in dim lighting as well. Moreover, this device had the facility of an augmentation system for the size of the text.

2)Book Hyperlinked with Thread

Traumgedanken (“Thoughts on Dreams’’) invented by Maria Fischer has a breathtaking design that uses delicately pierced threads to illustrate the confusion and fragileness of dreams. This book is a collection of literary, philosophical, psychological, and scientific texts about dreams. The multicolor thread is stitched to and across pages to make a physical hyperlink between the ideas.

3)Invisible Ink

P.S. Secret of the Barguzin skeleton is written by Marton Bozak. The writer used UV ink that could only be read under UV lighting. A UV lamp came attached to the book to explore the hidden messages in it.

4)A book to burn

Fahrenheit 451 is an anti-utopian novel written by American writer Ray Bradbury. The unique presentation of this novel lies in the hardcover copy - the cover has an actual matchstick replacing the number 'one’, and the spine is covered with a match striking paper, so that the book can be burned. This is significant as the story is about Montag, a fireman who burns books.

5)Sensory book

The book titled The Girl Who Was Plugged in has sensory functions and is a wearable book. This book’s machinery combines network sensors and actuators to give you a real-life experience. It has sound and a personal heating device to change skin temperature which allows you to truly experience the story. Furthermore, the vibration function can influence your heartbeat, mood and helps you to feel the intense emotion and tension of the protagonist.
The Girl Who Was Plugged In, written by James Tiptree Junior, is a science fiction novella. The story revolves around a 17-year-old girl named P. Burke who is caught in the trap of a large corporation that uses technology to control the major aspects of human life.

6)Drinkable water

What is more amazing than to see a book filtering water? Yes, you read it right! Drinkable Water is a book with silver-impregnated pages that can be used to filter water. One page can filter up to 100 litres, and each book can treat water for one person for four years. This book is made to provide drinkable water to poor communities and also contains instructions regarding sanitation.

7)Invisible

Invisible is a unique book as special temperature-sensitive paint is used to print the text, which reveals the content when the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius. The book, cataloguing a collection of poems, memoirs, and essays, addresses homelessness in Poland and was written by homeless people.

8)Miniature circular book

Lastly, Codex circular-shaped miniature book. This book was crafted around 1480s. It is 9 cm in diameter and consists of 226 pages. This beautifully crafted piece needs 3 claps to hold it together.
